Central Park

It rained all day yesterday, and we thought it would rain all day today, so we did not make plans to take Milo swimming this weekend. But today is a beautiful day outside, but we woke up too late to go to NJ. Instead we took him to a different dog run, the one at the Museum of Natural History.

My husband said that a three-legged dog does not need a gentle leader, but what a mistake! Milo pulled us everywhere, as if he knew where he was going. After a while at the run, we went to Central Park and Milo kept pulling us. We ended up at the Conservatory Water a model boat pond. Since Milo was very tired (I imagine from all the pulling), we were able to enjoy sitting there and watching all the children (and adults too) playing with the boats.

Milo's bark can become very annoying if you don't love him as much as we do. A war boat disrupted Milo's and our peace and made him bark, but not for long... too tired, I guess. He also barked when people approached him to pet him, since he gets very excited when they do.

He pulled us all the way back to the car, but since we arrived home, he has just been sleeping.

Next week, hopefully, we'll take him to the lake. I think that I've been under-estimating him, but seeing how well he did today, I know he is sooo ready to go up to the lake.

Comments:
totally go to the lake! just be prepared to dive in after him if he has trouble keeping his head up. if he does...you can get him a lifejacket like xena has. we got ours from a marine supply store. i've seen some in pet stores too...but not all of them have them. they're really handy because if he has trouble...there is a handle on the back and you can just grab it and keep him afloat without having to lift him.
good luck!
